Welcome to the 5th grade at Lancaster Elementary!
My name is Mrs. McGuire and I am looking forward to such a great school year with you! This is my first year teaching after graduating from Southeastern last spring, 2018 with a bachelors in middle school education. I spent one year under the guidance of our assistant principal, Mrs. Swett as a student teacher in her fifth grade classroom. I feel right at home as a new member of the Sea Turtle staff! I will be teaching science and math to both my homeroom and Mrs. Federico's this year. Both Mrs. Federico and I will be teaching our homerooms social studies.
I am very excited to get messy and test some predictions in science this year! In math, we will be exploring decimals, fractions, and geometry. In order to ensure your child’s success in the classroom, please review their C.A.S.E. (communications and school essentials) binder that should travel to and from school on a daily basis. Upon opening, you should see your child’s weekly agenda where they will record their nightly homework. Behind their homework agenda should be a page protector, labeled and containing their weekly newsletter that is given each Monday. This will show you important weekly reminders and test dates. This information can also be accessed here on my page under the Weekly Newsletter tab.
Looking forward to the fun, challenges, and successes that this school year holds!
