    Resource Science/SPED

Hi! Welcome to Mandeville High School! My Name is Melissa Adriano, this is my first year at Mandeville High, and I am currently serving as a Resource Science/SPED teacher.

I am originally from Brazil, however I graduated from South Plantation High School in Plantation - Florida in 1997. Moved back to Brazil to start my Bachelor's in Science, while still working on my Bachelor's I moved back into the United States, to  Mississippi Gulf Coast more specifically, so I could finish my Bachelor's in Science with a major in Biology, at the University of Southern Mississippi. Since I have always wanted to teach, I decided to work on my Master's of Art in Education with a major in Secondary Education. Now that I have enjoyed teaching SPED students, I plan on working on my EED on Special Needs with a major in Dyslexia. I am a Certified Biology teacher, however I plan on getting certification in different science subjects. I have taught for 3 years here in the United States, and for 6 years in Brazil.

My Mission as an educator is to provide my students with the skills necessary to succeed life, socially, emotionally as well as academically, being nurturing and empathetic.  I hope to be retributing to society by assisting these young students become productive members of society!
