Welcome to Pre-K! This is my 15th year in Early Childhood and my 2nd year teaching Pre-Kindergarten at Whispering Forest Elementary. My passion is teaching little ones to be lifelong learners and I especially love teaching the students of St. Tammany Parish.
In 1997, I graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe (formerly NLU) with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. I have worn many hats since then including owning my own preschool, substitute teaching, and working as a Para in a special education class. One of the most interesting positions in my early childhood career was the opportunity to serve as a caretaker in a PreK class for one of our local special needs students, along with his service dog!
I look forward to this new school year with high expectations for each student in my class. Ms. Melissa Lard is the para-professional in the classroom. Together we make learning fun for the students and can't wait to see their development progress throughout the year. I look forward to a wonderful year with you and your child!
