Welcome 3rd grade Students & Welcome back 5th grade Gifted Students!

I have been teaching gifted ELA in St. Tammany Parish for 12 years. I attended UNO for my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and Southeastern University for my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Gifted Education. I am married to a wonderful, supportive husband, and we have three lively children.

My main goal is for my students to be independent, lifelong learners who are compassionate, intelligent, and positive. I am a firm believer in teaching students how to access and evaluate information on their own; seldom do I give straight-forward answers. I believe students should not rely on teachers, parents, or adults for answers as this world is constantly changing and everyone is still learning.

My students know that I truly care about them as an individual and as a student. I try to approach situations with a positive attitude as well as teach my students to be positive. I believe attitude will be the determining factor despite education.

I know that I am creating life-long learners- strong, positive leaders for the future. I am here to support and encourage your child every step of the way. Abraham Lincoln once said, “I do the very best I know how, the very best I can, and I mean to keep on doing so until the end.” This is what I expect from my students and my commitment to them.
