Swimming into Kindergarten
Welcome Kindergarteners and proud parents! My name is Miss Jowers. I am 22 years old. I am a brand new teacher that is eager to get the ball rolling. I will be teaching your child until they leave for Christmas break. When they return in January they will be taught by Mrs. Reed for the remainder of the year. Mrs. Reed is a highly seasoned and capable teacher. In a way she will be mentoring me. We will be in constant contact with each other to ensure that the transition taking place in January will move as smoothly as possible. I am so excited to start this school year. I hope you are just as excited as I am. This year is all about growing in every sense of the word. My goal for this year is to challenge your children and allow them to feel success.
I am an Army Brat. During my childhood I spent a lot of time packing and moving around, but when anybody asks I just say that I grew up in Slidell, Louisiana. I stayed here longer than anywhere else. Over the years, I attended five different schools and graduated from a local high school.
For my bachelor’s I attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and received my degree in Early Childhood Education in May of 2016. By June 2016 I enrolled myself in the Curriculum and Instruction Master’s Program. I am anticipating graduating by December of this year. My more recent teaching experience has been working at Sylvan Learning Center as a tutor. So, I am well versed on helping learners of many different ability levels and learning styles. I am positive that this year will be a success!
