My name is John Veca and it is a pleasure being a part of the Salmen High team. I was born and raised in New Orleans and I come from a musical family. I attended Brother Martin High School in Gentilly and subsequently earned my BA in Education from McNeese State University. I then went on to teach middle and high school in Louisiana and Texas and in 2001 I accepted a position teaching ESL in South Korea at an English Academy. From there I went on to teach English and Music in China and Taiwan and I had the time of my life. Having grown up in a city as diverse as New Orleans, combined with my extensive International teaching experience, I have developed a strong sense of open-mindedness and acceptance for people of diverse races, creeds and cultures. I currently reside in St. Tammany Parish with my lovely wife and our rascal of a dog. I am looking forward to an exciting and successful 2017-18 school year, and am also looking forward to getting to know all of my students. Remember, "life is no dress rehearsal."
