Caitlyn Williams, 3rd Grade Teacher
Welcome back to school! I am excited to learn all about my students, but I also want to tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Caitlyn Williams, and I will be your child’s third grade teacher. I was raised in Covington and attended Madisonville schools for the lower grades, then graduated from Covington High School. I received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Southeastern Louisiana University and am certified for grades 1-5. I’ve been at Lancaster since the opening in 2011 through my completion of the STAR program, senior internship, subbing, and student teaching. I taught 4th grade last year, but I’m so excited to be on the 3rd grade team this year!
I’ve always known I wanted to be a teacher. Working with kids is my passion, and I am thankful to have the opportunity to teach your children. I believe the classroom should be a place where children feel comfortable to ask questions, share ideas, and explore their capabilities. My teaching philosophy is based on the fact that students come with a range of backgrounds, interests, and learning styles. Therefore, each student should be educated as an individual.
In order for this year to be successful, certain expectations will be required for your child: good study and homework habits, positive attitudes, classroom participation, and good behavior. I look forward to working with you to help your kids succeed and grow for their third grade year!
