Hi, my name is Rex Williams, but most people call me Coach.  I am a 1986 graduate of Haynesville High School way up in north Louisiana.  While there, I accelled in athletics, winning a state football championship my junior year and held the school record in the shot put for track.  I graduated as the schools first ever 4 year letterman within the same year.  I was voted most athletic and graduated with a 3.02 GPA.

I went to Louisiana Tech for two years after graduation.  I then transferred to Southern Arkansas University, home of the Muleriders.  I was there for two more years before dropping out to help my dad in a family business.  16 years and many many substitute teaching hours later, I went back to SAU and graduated there in 2006. While I was working the family business, I went to ministry school and graduated from Word of Life School of Ministry in 1996.

It was during those many hours of substitute teaching for Haynesville High School that I fell in love with that profession.  I especially loved subbing for coach Jackson's special ed class.  That is where I knew what field I wanted to teach in.  I then went online and got my masters from Grand Canyon University in Special Education.

This will be my second year in the St Tammany Parish School system.  Last year I spent the year teaching at Pitcher Jr high and coaching the football team there as well as assisting with the Covington High wrestling wrestling team.

I am so excited to be teaching at Covington High School.  I look forward to the upcoming year and hope it is filled with many successful moments.
