I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Mississippi and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Louisiana State University. I taught in the classroom for eleven years, I was an instructional coach for three years, and I’ve spent the past three years in administration.
My personal vision is that I will share a common moral purpose with teachers, parents, and students that address each students' unique academic, social, and emotional needs while reinforcing individual strengths, interests, and abilities. Differentiated, individualized instruction is based on the learning style of each child using a curriculum that is authentic to every student. My philosophy of acceptance and support allows each student to take risks and experience success, while building self-esteem, self-respect, and respect for others. I will promote social justice, diversity and tolerance for all students. I continue to try new researched based strategies and approaches to allow for maximum student engagement, which in return will close the achievement gap.
