Hello and welcome to my classroom! My name is Caroline Vorenkamp and I will be your child’s 2nd grade teacher. I am overly excited to meet your children and guide them through second grade. This year will be my third year teaching at Chahta-Ima Elementary School and I couldn’t be more privileged to work with a group of helpful professionals. I truly love teaching and seeing student achieve the best to their ability. This year is going to be filled with learning, laughter, and fun.
I graduated from St. Scholastic Academy in Covington and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (PreK-3) from the University of Louisiana Lafayette. I am also certified to teach 4th and 5th grade. I am in the midst of obtaining my Curriculum and Instruction Masters through University of Louisiana Lafayette. I have attended professional development for behavioral cohort, co-teaching model, design team, Project Read, BURST, and DIBELS.
Please feel free to contact me through the school office, via e-mail, or send a note inside your child’s green folder. Thank you in advance for your involvement, cooperation, and understanding during the coming school year. Collaboration, cooperation, and open communication between home and school are the keys to building a strong foundation for a successful school year. Please do not hesitate to contact me at anytime. If you would rather talk in person, I am always available to schedule appointments before and after school.
