Welcome to English!
My name is Marie Lunt. I teach Gifted English, AP English, Honors English and ACT Prep classes.
I received my Masters of English degree with a concentration in Language and Literacy from Southeastern Louisiana University in May 2014. My Masters' thesis is titled "Page Turners: A Stylistic Analysis of Young Adult Literature," completed as part of my Masters degree. My Bachelors of Arts degrees are in English and Secondary English Education. I received both degrees from the University of New Orleans in May 2010. I am certified in Mild/Moderate disabilities (May 2010) and Gifted Education (May 2016).
While at SLU, I was awarded the Teaching Fellowship in English and taught English 101 as part of that Fellowship. As part of my graduate assistantship, I was the Assistant Director of the Writing Center at SELU where I ran day-to-day operations as well as trained tutors in the writing process. Prior to that, I was a Writing Center tutor as part of my graduate assistantship. While at UNO, I received various awards from the College of Human Development and graduated cum laude.
My motto is: Strive to learn something new everyday, no matter how small or insignificant.
I look forward to working with you and your student this year.
