Hi! Welcome to Madisonville Elementary School! My name is Jenny Lachney. This is my 7th year teaching. I joined MES four years ago when given the opportunity to work on the co-teaching team. I am a Special Education teacher who partners with first and second grade teachers to meet the needs of all of the learners in their classes.
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2011. At that time I began my teaching career teaching third grade and entered graduate school. I earned my Masters of Education degree in Special Education from Northwestern Louisiana University in 2014. After teaching third grade for three years, I then began my journey in Special Education at MES.
Over the course of my teaching career I have completed many professional development trainings. Some of the trainings I have completed include Kagan Cooperative Learning, DIBELS Next, Co-Teaching, Darkness to Light, CPR/AED Certified, STAR Dyslexia Stimulation, Project Read, and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI). These certifications and others that I have received have allowed me to continue to grow as an educator.
I look forward to this school year with you and your child! It's going to be a great year!
