Welcome to the fun, fabulous world of Talented Theatre!!

I am excited to share my years of experience with your child. After graduating with a B.A. in Drama/Communications from the University of New Orleans, I had the tremendous opportunity of working onboard Carnival Cruise Lines for 10 years as a Production Entertainer. Following those voyages in 2006, I settled in Slidell LA and got involved with Slidell Little Theatre. There I performed in shows such as "Evita", Hairspray", "Mary Poppins" and "Shrek the Musical" as well as directed the "Mini Yats" summer theatre camps and assistant directed several feature productions. My husband and I also often perform as a band duo "Overboard" throughout the parish, and we are parents to 2 very active young boys- ages 9 and 11.

This will be my 4th year teaching Theatre for the St. Tammany Talented Arts Program. It is my mission to provide a nurturing environment that inspires creative thinking, confidence and character so children will be able to express their creativity and develop their raw talent while having fun and learning life long tools. Your child's acting skills will be strengthened by participating in weekly classes following the Viola Spolin based curriculum and performing in several live productions throughout the school year.

As you know, it a takes a TEAM to pull off a show, so I invite and encourage you to get involved with us! There are so many wonderful ways to participate. Whether it's reviewing lines with your child, building or painting a set, making or donating costumes and props, helping with rehearsals, etc., your involvement will make a huge difference in your child's success. We are all in this Together!

As an itinerant teacher, I am based at Bonne Ecole Elementary and teach also at Mandeville Middle School and Clearwood Junior High. You can always reach me at my email or leave a message for me at my base school. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of teaching your child and let's have a FANTASTIC year!!

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. LaSalla
