Management Alternatives in Education Teacher for 6th, 7th & 8th
Project READ Interventionist
Join me in celebrating my 21th year teaching in St. Tammany Parish. It has been a long journey since graduating Magna Cum Laude from Southeastern Louisiana University with a dual major in Elementary Education 1st - 8th and Mild/Moderate disabilities 1st - 12th, but I have enjoyed the ride. As a native New Orleanian, I acted as Owner/Director of LaPetite Developmental School in Metaire, Louisiana. After starting a family over thirty years ago, my life in St. Tammany Parish began. Since then, I have taught both regular and special educations classes from 1st to 6th grades with my longest being over 15 years as a 2nd grade teacher.
I have a great passion for teaching reading and am Project READ fully trained. A love for children's literature has made me a published author and hope to inspire my students through the joy of reading and writing.
My greatest legacy is my students, who I am proud to say, some of which have gone on to become accomplished teachers in their own right in the areas of advance mathematics, art, creative writing, and early childhood education.
I hope to add this year's students to the list of lifelong learners.
