Margo Helaire-Conner
  • Mrs. Margo Helaire-Conner, M.Ed.

My name is Margo Helaire-Conner and I have been a Professional School Counselor for six years.  This is my fifth year at Little Oak Middle School.  In additional to my role as a school counselor, I am the 504 Section Coordinator, and the Check-In/Check-Out (CICO) Coordinator which is the "LOM Cadets "Program.  I am also the Kindness and Compassionate (K.C.) Club Sponsor for 4th. 5th, and 6th graders, and the Kids in Transition (KIT) Contact person as well.

I graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL) in 1998 with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Afterwards, I earned my Master's degree in School Counseling Education from American Military University (AMU) in 2012.  I am currently working on postgraduate level classes to better increase my awareness on meeting the needs of students and families in our learning community.

My role as a school counselor is to help students in the areas of academic achievement, career and social/emotional development, ensuring today's students become productive, well-adjusted adults for tomorrow.  I work with students individually, in a small group setting in my office conduct developmental classroom lessons, as well as meet with teachers, parents, other school counselors, community leaders, and the administrative team to better assist the immediate needs of the students.

I look forward to another exciting school year at LOM, and thrilled to spend every day with your children.  Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time with any questions or concerns you may have.
