Hello and welcome to Fontainebleau Junior High Science.  This is my 5th year of teaching at Fontainebleau Junior High.  Previously I have taught at the high school level for thirteen years in the state of Connecticut.  In addition, I also worked in scientific research for 5 years at the University of Virginia.  I received a B.S. in Biology from Fairfield University in Fairfield Connecticut and a Masters Degree in Biology from Southern Connecituct University.  I have attended many workshops relating to Biotechnology.  In the past I have taught Physical Science, Biology, Biotechnology and Anatomy and Physiology.  I have a passion for teaching science and introducing my students to  new discoveries in the world of science.

Seventh and Eighth grade science includes lecture, interactive activities, research and laboratory experiments.  I have planned many laboratory activities and investigations in order to meet the needs of different types of learners and to reinforce classcontent/instruction. Fontainebleau Junior High students will develop an appreciation and an understanding of the importance of science in the world today and its greater importance in the future world.

My education, volunteering, research experience, teaching experience, and my personal experiences as a mother of four have provided me with the tools to build a creative and supportive learning environment for my students.  My commitment to teaching science and understanding the emotional and developmental needs of young adults have helped me to become a successful teacher.

If you have any questions or concerns about behavioral expectations, academic requirements, or any other concerns, please contact me at Fontainebleau Junior High. The best way to contact me is via email at

I consider myself very fortunate to be teaching the children of St. Tammany Parich.  Fontainebleau Junior High teachers and administrators are welcoming and supportive.  I look forward to establishing communication with all my students' parents and to a very exciting year exploring Science.
