Ms. Veronica Ennis
This year I am PRHS' 9th and 11th grade school counselor. I started my college journey at Loyola University in New Orleans, but due to Hurricane Katrina transferred to LSU for the first semester of my college career. After experiencing the size of LSU and comprehending just how much debt I would be putting myself in if I returned to Loyola, I decided to transfer to Southeastern Louisiana University instead of returning to Loyola when it reopened. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from SELU in 2008.
Immediately following, I began the Master of Education program at Southeastern. In 2011, I achieved my Master's degree in Counselor Education with a concentration in School Counseling. During this time, I worked on campus counseling college athletes, I completed a practicum counseling college students, and I interned as a counselor for both FJHS and Mayfield Elementary School in St. Tammany Parish. I also qualified as a National Certified Counselor.
After completing my M. Ed., I worked as a long term substitute at Magnolia Trace Elementary, and eventually was hired by PRHS to serve as the Alternative to Suspension Aide. At the end of the 2012-2013 school year, I was offered my current position at Pearl River High School. This year I am excited to begin the process to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. 2018-2019 marks the start of my 6th year as a counselor at PRHS. I am excited to begin another amazing year and feel blessed to have my dream job!!!
