Jessica Dickson, 4th grade-Math, Science, SS Teacher
Welcome to what I hope will be the best year yet! Words cannot express how excited I am to meet and work with each of you. I hope that you will soon learn what a great passion I have for teaching and learning, as well as the strength of my commitment to be a part of your child’s winning team. I joined the Lancaster family in 2012 as a special education teacher, and I am now thrilled to be a part of the 4th grade team. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education: Mild/Moderate Disabilities from Southeastern Louisiana University, and I currently have a dual teaching certificate (Elementary Education grades 1-5; Special Education grades 1-12). Inspiring young minds to reach their own potential has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to influence your child.
So who is this person to whom you are entrusting your most prizedpossession? I am a product of St. Tammany and Tangipahoa Parish schools. I have an incredibly supportive family and husband who encourage me every day to keep doing what I love. I teach ballet in my free time—something which has been, and will continue to be, a part of my life for as long as I can remember and foresee. Most importantly, I wake up each day and do what I consider to be the most important job in the world! “I teach, therefore I touch the future.”
My door is always open, my phone is always on, and my email is always up. If you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, please do not hesitate to contact me. Your unique perspective as a parent is essential to help me know that I’m doing what is best for our student in the classroom. I look forward to working with you in the months ahead and celebrating our successes throughout the year! Welcome to our learning adventure!
