Special Education and Moderate Classroom Teacher
Welcome to Ms. Long's webpage. I am so happy to have you here and am very excited about this school year. This is my 12th year teaching and my 8th year at Abita Middle. I really enjoy teaching many subjects but my all time fave is Math and Science. I love the students who live in our parish and I really love working in St. Tammany Parish schools.
A little about me:
I graduated from the University of New Orleans in 2000 with a bachelors in General Studies - Math and Science. I continued my education in 2001 at UNO in the Sociology Program until 2006, and graduating with my MA in Sociology. In 2007 I entered the Special Education Mi/Md program at UNO. I started my teaching career in Jefferson Parish Public Schools, and then moving over to St. Tammany in 2011. I am a mother 5 (2 girls, 3 boys) and a grandmother of 1 little granddaughter. I love doing crafts and enjoy the outdoors and anything to do with nature and animals. I am usually playing games, reading, writing, crafting or cooking in my free time. I might even bring a little dish now and then to the class for you to taste.
I am so happy to have you as my student this school year. I look forward to getting to know you a little bit more.
The new school year is moving fast and we are almost finished with our first 9 weeks. Before you know it, our first grading period will be here - October 11th. Keep working hard...
News to you and your family from Ms. Long and the other 4-H team leaders.

An added bonus to our 4-H club this year will be our 6th grade Cheer Squad. Cheer Squad will be a part of 4-H because we will be doing many things within the community and the school.
