Welcome to Boyet! My Name is Jennifer Crain. This is my 7th year at Boyet and 26th year of teaching. I teach gifted ELA and American History. I love teaching 7th grade at Boyet, and I look forward to a great year!
I graduated from LSU in 1992 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. In 2016, I earned my Master's degree from ASU in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Gifted. I have one son who is a sophomore at LSU. I enjoy reading, shopping, dancing, and trivia.

***ZAP (Zeros Aren't Pemitted) detentions will be given starting this week. Mr. Priola is supposed to send home a letter or robocall to explain Zap. Email me if you have any questions.
We are now in 4th nine weeks!!! Clean out your binder and backpack. LEAP is in April.
WWW- WWW List 9: 13-25 this week. Flash Fiction due Friday, March 23rd. Study Lists 1-9. Test next Thursday, March 29th.
English-Finish unit on The Sentence and LEAP review/writing is assessed througout the curriculum.
Reading-Our anchor novel this nine weeks is The Outsiders/text structures-Read and Reflect every two chapter, update story map. Novel vocab. due Wednesday, March 21st.
We will be analyzing story elements, character development, mood and tone, theme, 1960's music and culture, and writin an argument and defending it.
Assigned 4th nine weeks book report this week. Library day is Friday. Book report is due April 26th.
S.S.-Ch. 14 on The Reformers of the 1800's. A quiz will be given (10 questions) Wednesday and the Ch. 14 test Friday. It will consist on 30 mulitiple Choice questions and a short essay. Study all handouts, the bellwork, and the chapter. Quizlet may be used to study but not in place of the handouts and book. Study it all.
