  • Hello!  Welcome to my web site!

This is my 25th year of teaching and my 10th year teaching gifted students in Abita Springs.  Although I am a New Orleans native, I have lived and taught in Louisiana, Massachusetts, and Florida.

I have a bachelor's degree in Biological Anthropology from Harvard University.  I earned a Master's Degree in Child Development and Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College in Boston.  I later earned my certification in Academically Gifted after additional graduate work through Northwestern State University in Natchitoches.  I am also certified in early childhood (age 3-grade 3), special education, and middle school science.

Since 1988, I have had the opportunity teach with children of all abilities in both public and private schools.  They have ranged in age from infants to college-age, and I have worked with them at diverse settings including a Montessori school, a rainforest research station, and an oceanographic institute, although most of my time has been in classrooms with grades K-8.  I feel very lucky to have had such enriching experiences, but teaching gifted students at Abita schools is undoubtedly the highlight of my career.  I have learned much from their burning questions, their creative spirit, and their endless energy for learning.

I look forward having your children continue my own education.
