Welcome to Ms. Radtke's class at Mandeville High School. I look forward to an outstanding school year. I have been teaching for 21 years, and this is my 11th year at Mandeville High School. I teach Chemistry, as well as the STAR (Students Teaching and Reaching) class for students interested in pusuing a career in education. I graduated from LSU with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1997 and have been teaching math and science ever since.
Chemistry is the study of matter and how matter interacts. We focus on classification, structure, and nomenclature during the first semester. During the second semester, we switch our focus to reactions, reaction rates, and stoichiometry. This course will prepare high school students for their college chemistry classes.
This website is designed so that students can keep track of upcoming tests and assignments, as well as find out what he or she missed when absent. If you click on the assignments link, you can find a copy of my weekly lesson plans and daily activities. Most items are links that will take you directly to the item. While the website is convenient, there are times when I am a day behind or ahead of schedule.
The only supplies I require are a binder (which may be shared with another class), a calculator, and a pen or pencil. I look forward to working with you this year! Contact me via email if you ever have questions.
