Hello and welcome to my early intervention and kindergarten inclusion webpage! I am a special education teacher with 25 years of teaching experience across three school districts. This is my 10th year teaching in St. Tammany Parish schools, with the majority of my experience at Madisonville Elementary School. I enjoy teaching at MES in such a warm and vibrant learning community. I especially love helping my students with special needs to become the best that they can be, socially and academically, as active and valuable members of that community.
I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a dual certification in regular and special education in 1988 from the University of New Orleans. I later earned a master's degree in Severe Disabilities (1992) and added a Master's + 30 with certification in Early Intervention in 2002.
For the 2017-18 school year, I will be serving students with special needs in Pre-K/LA-4 and Kindergarten to help them to engage fully and meaningfully with the general education curriculum. I look forward to collaborating with teachers and parents to ensure that our students are successful as they learn and grow with their peers in the classroom environment.
