I obtained both my Bachelor's Degree in Education and my Master's in Special Education & Gifted from the University of New Orleans. Before coming to Madisonville Junior, I taught 7th & 8th grade gifted science and math as well as Project Lead the Way - Gateway to Technology engineering elective at Monteleone Junior High. I also taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade gifted and regular science for 5 years at St. Tammany Junior High in Slidell.
I very much enjoy learning about NASA and the many things happening in the space program. In 2008 I was part of the inaugural Michoud Fellowship, a partnership between NASA Michoud and St. Tammany Parish School Board. A few summers ago I was fortunate to be able to go to Houston to a week long workshop called "Liftoff! Rockets to Robots". I learned a great deal about NASA, the history of rocketry, how robots are used in space, and even practiced building my own robot! In the summer of 2017 I taught a course called "Mission to Mars" at Envision Experience at both Cal Maritime in Vallejo, California and Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. Last summer I partnered with Northshore Technical College in LaCombe for some of there STEM camps.
