    Gary has been the Talented Theatre Teacher at Covington High since 2005. He earned a Master's of Fine arts in Acting from the University of New Orleans and a BA in Communications with an emphasis in Theatre from Southeastern Louisiana University. He is also the Co-Artistic Director for the Covington Louisiana Actor's Playhouse System summer theatre program.

    Gary continues to work as an actor, director and theatre technician around the New Orleans area, primarily on the Northshore. He was named Performing Artist of the Year at the 2016 St. Tammany Parish President's Arts Awards and has been awarded several Ginny Awards in acting and lighting design from Slidell Little Theatre. In the summer of 2016 he spent three weeks studying at Shakespeare's Globe in London as part of the Teaching Shakespeare Through Performance Program through the English Speaking Unior of the United States and Globe Education. Gary was also named the CHS Teacher of the Year for 2012/13.

    In addition to the high quality productions at CHS, his students have also acheived great success with several competitons that they participate in. Each year he has had multiple students in the state competition for Poetry Out Loud since CHS began participating, and has had two students make it to the national competition in Washington DC (the only two from St. Tammany Parish.) He has had three students make it to the National Finals for the National Shakespeare Competition in New York City. His students have also fared extremely well with their performances in the Vonnie Borden Speech and Theatre Festival, consistently finishing in the top three overall.
