Paula Allen, 5th Grade ELA Teacher
My story begins in Baton Rouge, where I grew up, and graduated from LSU in 1991. Since graduating, I have taught second grade, third grade, fourth grade, and now I am teaching fifth grade at Lancaster Elementary School. Not many people can say that they truly love getting up in the morning and going to work, however, I am lucky enough to feel that each and every morning of the school year. I truly enjoy what I do, and look forward to helping my students feel the same way. Over the years, I have taught in East Baton Rouge Parish, Knox County Schools, and St. Joseph School in Knoxville, TN, and I started my career with St. Tammany Parish Schools as a LEAP tutor in 2003, when my youngest child was only 3. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades in St. Tammany Parish Schools over the past 9 years, (with a small venture to Tennessee in between) and am so fortunate to be back here in Madisonville. My own children are products of this wonderful school system, and I am proud to be a teacher in St. Tammany Parish.
