I am Ms. Allison Nata and I teach English Language Arts which includes reading, writing, grammar, spelling, and handwriting.
I graduated Southeastern Louisiana University with a B.A. in Elementary Education in 2003. I am in my 14th year of teaching at Florida Ave. Elementary.
In previous years, I taught 1st grade for 3 years and I taught 2nd grade for 7 years. This will be my 4th year teaching 5th grade (I student taught 5th grade in college, too).
My other half, Sean, and I have been together for 18 years. I am a mother to 2 boys - Jesse is 20 years old and will be a sophomore at SLU majoring in Engineering Technology with a concentration in mechanical engineering. My younger son is Hunter, who is 17 years old and is a sophomore at Slidell High School. They are both smart and each have unique qualities that make them special to me.
I hold high expectations for those in my class. I feel if I didn't, they
wouldn't try as hard as they do. They work hard and I wouldn't
have it any other way.
I love to have fun while learning. If it involves music, real life
experiences, etc. to learn material, I love it! The more they can connect
what they learn in class to their life outside of school, the better.
