Hello and welcome to Woodlake Elementary School! I have been at Woodlake since 2015. I love being a Pel-I-Can! My first year of teaching was in 1987 in Honduras. My husband (of only 2 months at that time) and I packed everything we owned in the back of our Toyota truck and drove from our home town of Covinton, Louisiana to La Ceiba, Honduras! Since that time, we have lived and taught in Saudi Arabia and are now very happy to be back home in Louisiana. My husband and I have been married for 31 plus years. We have four amazing children and three precious grandchildren!
I graduated from Southeastern LA University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and later earned my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I have certifications in ESL, Special Education, Preschool Early Intervention, and Child Search. I love being a life-long learner and enjoy the different trainings and opportunities for professional development that I have through St. Tammany Parish Schools.
I am looking forward to a great school year! It is truly my honor and privilege to share my days with your child!
