    1978- Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies with honors, University of Southern
    Mississippi
    1980-82- Graduate Studies in Conducting, Composition, and Double Bass at LSU
    1984- Graduate Studies in Double Bass, Hartt School of Music

    TEACHING EXPERIENCE

    As a music educator, Mr.Stuart has taught 27 years. His experience includes 2
    years elementary strings in Baton Rouge, 3 years elementary strings and high
    school orchestra in Gulfport MS, 6 years as instructor in the St. Tammany
    Parish Talented Music Program , 5 years as Salmen HS jazz band director, and
    15 years in the St. Tammany String Program.

    PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE

    Mr. Stuart is a professional bass player. He is a member of the Baton Rouge
    Symphony Orchestra , performing with them for 27 seasons, the last 23
    of which he has served as Associate Principal Bass. He is also a member of
    the Mobile Symphony Orchestra having served there 17 years, 14 as Principal
    Bass. 1982 to 1992 Mr. Stuart was the bassist for the United States Coast
    Guard Band. Since 1996 he has been the call bassist for the Saenger Theater
    Broadway Series. In addition to the aforementioned affiliations, Mr.Stuart
    freelances with various local performers.
