Welcome to Mandeville Junior High and our class.  I have been teaching 7th grade math in St. Tammany Parish since 1995. This is my 7th year at Mandeville Junior High, and I feel very lucky to be part of such a successful school. In addition to teaching math, I am also Head of the Math Department, the girls' soccer coach, and the school's webmaster.

Math is a participation subject. You have to be active in class, learn the rules, and practice daily to be successful. Math can also be difficult because it is a cumulative subject, meaning it builds upon itself. You have to learn it today in order to apply it tomorrow. Many students who struggle do so because they did not get the basics in elementary school. We will be working together to ensure your success.  Keeping up with the work will become a very important piece to that puzzle.

Studies show that getting involved in your school is important to being a successful student. I encourage my students to do just that.  Students should join a club, play an instrument in the band, sing in the chorus, or try out for a team. Junior High is hard for many students, and being a part of something will help.

I am here for the success of my students and try to go above and beyond to help them succeed, both in life and in the classroom. I am willing to help; all you have to do is ask. Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss your concerns. Due to everyone's time constraints, email is the best way to contact me:  I look forward to growing and learning with you.
