Kay S. Rhodus
Welcome to my webpage and my English III on level course.
I have been teaching for 36 years. I am entering my 28th year here at Slidell High School. My previous 8 years were spent teaching in Plaquemines Parish at Boothville-Venice High School (3) and Port Sulphur High School (1). My first teaching positions in St. Tammany Parish were at Our Lady of Lourdes(2) and at St. Margaret Mary (2).
I graduated from Eastern Arizona Junior College, and then completed my undergraduate BS degree at Southern Utah University. After teaching three years in Plaquemines Parish, I returned to Northern Arizona University to earn a MA degree.
The students of English III will be involved in an extensive study of the development of our American literature and the great American authors. They will be engaged in daily and consistent practice with the skills of critical reading, thinking and writing. Students will also be guided through an extensive ACT practice curriculum to prepare for this very challenging evaluation in March.
The English III curriculum will require considerable study in and out of the classroom. However, though they will be working reading a great deal, thinking a great deal, and writing a great deal, they also will be LEARNING a great deal. I am looking forward to working with some amazing young people!
