My name is Erica Moses and I'm the proud music teacher at Pine View Middle School. I teach classroom music to all students in grades 4-6. Also, I instruct and direct the amazing Pine View Chorus to students in grades 5 and 6. This year begins my 23rd year at Pine View. I'm blessed to teach music to students in the St. Tammany Parish School System; but most of all, students who attend Pine View.
I earned by BS Degree from Southern University A&M College, in Baton Rouge, LA., majoring in Music Education (piano) with a minor in voice and my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.
I'm always engaged with music. I've been a church musician since age 12. Currently, I serve as the musician and choir director at a local church and the owner of Erica Moses Piano Studio.
I am the mother of a beautiful and intelligent daughter, Diamond. Diamond is currently working in Baton Rouge and will be starting medical school in the near future. Her future ambition is to become a Pediatric Oncologist. (She's a product of Pine View!) I enjoy sports (GO JAGS!! I'm a die-hard Southernite), spending time with my family and friends, traveling, singing, and writing music.
For the 2018-2019 school year, I was selected as Teacher of the Year. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to represent Pine View. As a music educator, I truly believe that all students should be given the opportunity to learn and study music. Music is a language that everyone speaks. I'm looking forward toward a great year of teaching music to the students who enter my class.
