    Mrs. Jennifer Dean, formally Jennifer Donewar, has taught high school for twenty-two years, of which 19 years are at Mandeville High. She presently teaches US Government and Law Studies. Mrs. Dean has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History, with a minor in Government with an emphasis on Pre-Law and an Alternate Certification in Social Studies. Mrs. Dean was named as the 2009 Law League of Louisiana Teacher of the Year.

    Mrs. Dean has attended numerous Education Conferences and Institutes, including American Bar Association Law Related Education, We the People, Order in the Court, LEAP of the 21st Century, FORMAT, High Schools that Work, Inspiration in Social Studies, Law and Civics Education, Newspaper Education, JumpStart, only to name a few. She has worked to revamp the Social Studies Block Curriculum for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. Mrs. Dean has served on the state and parish social studies textbook adoptions.

    In addition to teaching, Mrs. Dean is currently the senior class sponsor and Social Studies Department Chairperson. She also teaches Government for the St. Tammany Parish a3 Virtual Academy.
