Mrs. Scott P. Becker
I am a resident of Covington and have lived here my entire life. I attended public schools in the area until junior high. For high school, I attended and graduated from St. Scholastica Academy. I received a B.A. in English from Southeastern University, then went back to attain an alternate certification for English Education.
I have been teaching for 20 years, only at Covington High School! I student taught here in 1996 and refused to leave, so I subbed for CHS until the administration realized they needed to hire me as an English teacher; this occurred in the Spring of 1998. I have taught all grade levels, 9-12, but only had freshmen for 1 semester ...hmmm. I taught sophmores for 10 years but eventually outgrew them. I currently teach junior and senior level English classes.
During my tenure here at CHS I have sponsored several organizations: Flag Team (1998-2001), Year Book (2002-2005), and National Honor Society (2011-2015). However, teaching English is what I do best. I currently reside in Covington with my husband and my youngest son (a Freshman at SLU Fall of 2018); my oldest son graduated from CHS in 2014 and is currently in the Navy.
