Melissa Soileau, M.Ed.
Welcome to my webpage! I am Melissa Soileau (pronounced "swallow"). While this is my second year at Lancaster Elementary School, this is my 22nd year in education.
Teaching is my "second career." I graduated from Louisiana Tech University (GO Bulldogs!!!) with a bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in English. I worked for a local newspaper for four years before deciding to do what I now know should've been my first and only career. I earned my alternate certification in elementary grades first through fourth from Southeastern Louisiana University. My master's degree, which is also from SLU, is in special education.
I have taught at four different St. Tammany schools and one Tangipahoa school in my 21 years of educating children. My mom, sister and husband are also educators and have worked or currently work in the STPPS system. Two of our three children have graduated from STPPS schools, and our third child is in high school in St. Tammany Public Schools this year.
I am blessed and humbled to be a part of this amazing school system and Lancaster Elementary School! If there is anything I can do for you, please feel free to email me anytime!
