Melissa Soileau, M.Ed.
Welcome to my webpage! I am Melissa Soileau (pronounced "swallow"). While this is my first year at Lancaster Elementary School, this is my 21st year in education.
Teaching is my "second career." I graduated from Louisiana Tech University (GO Bulldogs!!!) with a bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in English. I worked for a local newspaper for four years before deciding to do what I now know should've been my first and only career. I earned my alternate certification in elementary grades first through fourth from Southeastern Louisiana University. My master's degree, which is also from SLU, is in special education.
I have taught at three different St. Tammany schools and one Tangipahoa school in my 20 years of educating children. My mom, sister and husband are also educators and work in the STPSB system. Two of our three children graduated from STPSB schools, and our third child begins high school in St. Tammany Public Schools this year.
I am blessed and humbled to be a part of this amazing school system and Lancaster Elementary School! If there is anything I can do for you, please feel free to email me anytime!
