• Shiela P. Cole

My name is Shiela Cole and I am very privileged to have the opportunity to work with your child this year. I have worked at Chahta-Ima Elementary for the past 21 years, teaching first, second, and third grade. This year I have the greatest opportunity to teach at Pontchartrain Elementary teaching 2nd grade.

After student teaching at Pontchartrain in the Fall of 1996, I received my undergraduate degree, Bachelors of Arts in Education, from Southeastern Louisiana University in December of 1996.
I continued my education at Northwestern State University and  received my master's degree in education with an emphasis in technology in May of 2005. I also have 21 educational hours towards an Educational Leadership Degree, along with 15 hours towards a Reading Specialist Degree. I have also participated in the Lead Academy Program provided by the district.
I believe that continuing my education not only benefits me as an educator, but benefits my students as well.

I believe the parent/teacher relationship is one of the essential components to a successful school year for the children. All information will be found in your child's take home folder.
Please feel free to contact me at or call the office 626-3748.
