Hi, and welcome to Honey Island Elementary School, where "Every Day, Every Child Succeeds!" I am so excited for this school year as we "Board the Boat of Learning!" Our students will have fun this school year as they learn important academic and social skills. This is my ninth year as Assistant Principal of Honey Island Elementary School, and my 28th year as an educator! I have a deep love and concern for the students at Honey Island, and I absolutely adore the Honey Island community! We live and work in a great community of students, teachers, parents, and community members! Altogether, they make Honey Island the great school that it is.
A Little About Me!
In 1990, I graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education. Later in 1993, I earned my Master's Degree in Education. I went on a few years later to become a Nationally Board-Certified Teacher and I earned my Master's Plus 30, focusing on my administrative certification. I am married to Tate Troyer. I have two children and we share five grandchildren - Beau, Griffyn, Rowan, Pierson, and Lucas! I am a graduate of Pearl River High, my children graduated from St. Tammany High Schools, and my grandchildren who are old enough all attend St. Tammany Parish Schools! We love St. Tammany! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling, and crafting!
I am so excited about this school year, and I can't wait until I meet and work with all of you!
