Mrs. Laurie Jo Koster
Welcome to Talented Theatre at PRHS! I am a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh/ Johnstown with a dual degree in Theatre Arts/ Speech Communications (1984) My professional working background includes Holland America Cruise Line where I had my own show for 8 years and traveled the globe. This is my 16th year teaching in St. Tammany Parish for the NUMBER ONE TAP PROGRAM in the state of Louisiana! I have been always been based at PRHS and love it.
I am married to Dan Koster ( whom I met while sailing for Holland America) for 27 years now and have two daughters both of whom were in Talented theatre while in elementary school through High school. My daughters are ages 24 and 25 now and all grown up. I am becoming a FIRST TIME grandmother in February of 2018 so stay tuned for a reveal! :) I also have four fur babies at home and a love for dogs! I love to travel and have traveled on two world cruises to date when I was with Holland America Line. I also have a passion for white chocolate and coffee.
My class is considered academic and is based on critique/ theory/ history and lots of theatre games! Talented Theatre provides theoretical and practical training in the art of theatre. Special attention is given to theatrical production. Students are NOT judged or graded by comparision to other students, but on their own merits and personal growth in class. Get ready to break a leg and have FUN!
